Fear release therapy can help aid fertility and a natural, more comfortable and easier birth; by looking at an individual’s fears around pregnancy and the birth of her baby.
Fear can result in the Fear-Tension-Pain syndrome, identified by Dr Grantly Dick-Read (1890-1959). He found that women’s fear of the birth caused them to create tension in their bodies during labour; tension which led to pain and longer labour, as Dr Grantly Dick-Read’s published work ‘Natural Childbirth’ and ‘Childbirth without fear’ explains.
It is natural for women to have fears of all kinds during pregnancy; is the baby ok? How will I cope when the baby is here? Will having a baby affect my career? Will our baby have a negative affect on my relationship with my partner? And many other worries can manifest during pregnancy.
It is important to address any fears and worries during pregnancy; enabling women to enjoy their pregnancy and to remain relaxed throughout, during labour, birth and beyond.
